van Thiel United BV
Van Thiel United is a family business that was founded in 1842. They are known for producing pioneering scaffolding materials. Their expertise lies in offering complete solutions for conventional scaffolding construction.
In 2024 van Thiel needed a new ERP system and choose for Odoo. Via a shared connection Odoologic was introduced and a fruitful cooperation begun in January 2025.
Today van Thiel is fully operational in Odoo17 using the Odoo apps CRM, Sales, Purchase, Inventory, Manufacturing, Shop floor, Products, Contacts, Employees, Knowledge, ,Dashboards, Rental, Discuss, Accounting, Maintenance and Sign. Dutchworld / Odoologic assited them with the implementation and developed over 37 custom apps and installed and configured 5 3rd party apps. This way the process in Odoo was completely in line with the business processes from van Thiel and they were even able to use the time they saved by using Odoo to optimise their business processes.
Matthias was involved with more then 85% of the app developments.
Their story
The story of van Thiel begins in 1842, when Piet van Thiel laid the foundations of the company in Beek en Donk with a small forge and weaving mill, producing nails and linen bags. The family business grew as his sons Willem, Gijs, and Janus joined in 1874, 1879, and 1882, and in 1886 the company became P. van Thiel and Sons.
After Piet’s passing in 1894, his sons continued the business. World War II brought a key change: Henri van Thiel continued producing bolts under the original name, while Piet van Thiel started making screws and screw bolts in a new factory, Schroevenfabriek P.F.G. van Thiel.
In 1950, they introduced a game-changing innovation: the THIEL wedge coupler. This marked the start of our focus on scaffolding. In 1969, the two companies merged again under the name Van Thiel United. Despite challenges in 1973, including a sit-in strike, the company continued to grow under new ownership with P.J. Zweegers & Zonen.
Since 2000, they have focused entirely on the development and production of scaffolding equipment. With almost two centuries of craftsmanship and innovation, Van Thiel United is now a trusted name in the industry, known for quality, reliability, and solutions that make scaffolding safer and easier for professionals.
